I became a childhood care provider first and foremost because I love children. I enjoy the relationships I form with parents and children alike. After many years of working in childcare, it's like I have an extended family of families and children and I cherish these bonds I've cultivated. I understand the physical and emotional demands of working with children and have the compassion, fortitude, and endurance that childcare necessitates. In professional and familiar settings I pride myself on offering guidance and modeling good behavior to children. I believe communication is essential to provide effective childcare. Previous childcare positions have required me to develop and workshop lesson plans while keeping parents informed on daily activities with digital updates and monthly newsletters.

I obtained my undergraduate degree from Texas State University. I have a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Currently, I am happily working as a Registered Behavior Technician for children with Autism. With that said, I soon will be RBT certified and able to officially call myself an ABA Therapist upon taking the scheduled exam. I have been working as an RBT for ten months now. Upon starting, I did not think that I would grow to love the ABA field so much. I learned a lot about myself and even more about children. For instance, working with children with Autism has taught me a great deal about how underestimated children can be. They are selfless, kind, and unique in so many ways. In fact, I love working with children because of that. What I love the most about my job is that these kids come in with expected low outcomes surrounding their diagnosis and end up surpassing goals that, at first, seemed far-fetched. Because of this, I believe that every kid has the capabilities of going above and beyond. It is just up to us to foster those capabilities through environment, support, and care. My past sitting experiences include caring for a family three kids. Caring for two three year old boys and nine year old girl was one of the best things I could of started doing. I originally started sitting for the family while trying to finish the last of my undergraduate degree. A year and a half later, I am still sitting for them occasionally. As a person, I love caring and doing for others. I take pride in being the person anyone can come to. I owe a lot of this to my family. I was raised in big family that were known to treat strangers like family. There isn't a place we go where we don't run into someone we know. This is an important thing I carry with me today. In fact, I believe it is what makes me a great candidate for care giving. I am patient, determined, kind, and adaptive to needs. For kids, I want to be the person they feel welcomed around. In addition, I want them to remember me on their journey throughout life. For a child to remember you later on means you impacted their life in some way. It is important that I hold all the people that got me to where I am today close to my heart. I hope that one day I will be one of those people for a kid. Today, it has become one of many of my life's greatest goal.
